Let us examine the CD-ROM software by looking at the game titles first. With an MPEG-based video playback card such as Sigma Design's ReelMagic and a CD-ROM drive with CD-i support, namely the CR563-B, users can watch CD-ROM-based CD-i movies on their personal computers. In fact, the CR563-B drives that come with Creative Technology's upgrade kits can run CD-i movies. Unlike the older batch of CR563-B drives, the Edutainment CD16 multimedia upgrade kit supports the CD-i format. The sound card and CD-ROM drive employed are the Sound Blaster Basic 16 and Creative/Panasonic CR563-B respectively. Both kits use the same sound card and CD-ROM drive. Hardware-wise, Edutainment CD16 is no different from Discovery CD16 (reviewed more than a month ago). The 34 titles consist of a mix of games, edutainment software and infotainment titles. WITH 34 CD-ROM titles, Sound Blaster Edutainment CD16 happens to be the multimedia upgrade kit with the most software titles available at the moment. An upgrade kit packed with 34 CD-ROM titles
